Thomas Allen had served in India for seven years with the 2nd Sherwood Foresters, and had come back to Europe with the Indian Contingent. Before enlisting in the Army, he had been employed as a moulder at Messrs. Hill's Foundry in Woods Lane, Derby. He was blown to pieces by a shell.
